Dr Abel Polese is a senior researcher at Tallinn University. Previously to this appointment he worked as Policy Analyst for the DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission, and has been a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He works with practice and theory of governance, and in particular on informal mechanisms of governance, in the former USSR and South East Asia. His project “Sustainable Development in Cultural Diversity” received the Global Education Award from the Council of Europe in 2011. He is co-editor of the Scopus-indexed Studies of Transition States and Societies (www.tlu.ee/stss) and has authored a number of resource tools and publications in eight languages.
